CEI Digital Die Cut Operator
2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM  
 
Fortis Solutions Group is seeking a Digital Die Cut Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will operate Delta 1, Delta 2, and CEI die cutting machines to die cut and apply laminate or UV varnish to digitally printed labels.
The ideal candidate will have experience in printing, converting, or manufacturing and possess strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail while supporting high-quality label production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Operate Delta 1, Delta 2, and CEI die cutting machines to die cut labels and apply laminate or UV varnish.
  • Receive printed rolls from the digital press and process them through the die cutting equipment.
  • Inspect incoming rolls and verify them against job orders (tickets).
  • Set up the die cutting machine according to job specifications, including:
    • Die selection
    • Roll wind configuration
    • Lamination or UV settings
    • Special job instructions
  • Follow all Fortis quality procedures and Job Check Processes to ensure production accuracy.
  • Complete required quality checks and documentation.
  • Utilize the ERP system to log jobs and track production progress.
  • Monitor production to ensure proper registration and die cutting accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate with the maintenance team as needed.
  • Communicate with Shift Supervisors, Production Managers, and Scheduling regarding production issues.
  • Participate in shift handoff communication to ensure smooth production transitions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production team.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of printing, press, converting, or label production experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Basic math skills (decimals, fractions, percentages, ruler measurements).
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Basic computer skills required for ERP system usage.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
  • Frequent standing, lifting, crouching, and repetitive tasks.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Regular exposure to production equipment noise and dust.
  • Warehouse temperatures may vary with outside weather conditions.
Safety
  • Safety shoes and eye protection are strongly recommended in production areas.
  • Additional PPE may be required depending on facility standards.

  • None required.
