Job description

Advertising Operations Coordinator
About the Role
M-F 8:30am-4:30pm (hybrid in office/remote) As an Advertising Operations Coordinator at KOAM, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our sales and operations teams by ensuring the accurate scheduling and execution of advertising campaigns. You'll be the go-to person for coordinating commercial instructions and creative assets and proactively resolving issues before they impact airtime. Your attention to detail and coordination skills will directly influence advertiser satisfaction and on-air quality.
About the Company
KOAM is the local news, weather, and sports leader in the 4-States area (Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri). KOAM is owned by Morgan Murphy Media, family-owned and operated since its founding in 1890. Morgan Murphy Media operates television and radio stations, a print magazine, websites, mobile and streaming apps, and a digital marketing agency, across its 11 locations. We offer medical, dental, vision, prescription, life and long-term disability insurance, EAP, flexible spending account, 401(k), paid time off including vacation, sick, personal days, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
  • Enter, maintain, and quality-check advertising campaigns (dates, lengths, programs, restrictions, assets).
  • Own the commercial creative/assets workflow: receive instructions, track versions, confirm specs/lengths, and ensure everything is ready by deadline. Ask clarifying questions.
  • Keep records organized with consistent naming and documentation. Uphold internal standards.
  • Run routine quality checks to prevent errors before campaign goes live (missing files, mismatched lengths, incorrect dates, duplicate/invalid instructions).
  • Coordinate schedule and format changes as needed and communicate clear options/impacts to Sales and operations teams.
  • Partner with Master Control/Programming/Operations to troubleshoot and prevent missed/incorrect airs.

Qualifications
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear communicator who can confidently ask questions and protect accuracy when information is incomplete.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • WideOrbit experience a plus but not required; training provided.
  • Interest in learning evolving advertising workflows and tools over time (new formats, new systems, changing client needs).
