Job description

Industrial Engineer (Production or Manufacturing Engineer)

 

Job Description:

This role is a great opportunity for an individual with experience in manufacturing and distribution process optimization, layout and space planning, integration of technology, and practices to cut waste and improve quality (i.e. Six Sigma practices).


Responsible To:

The President of the Company and the General Manager of Warehouse Operations


Will collaborate with:

Business Operations Analyst (AP, Cashflow management, and vendor/supply analyst)

Senior regulatory team

Customer service and sales department

Sales and Marketing team

Responsibilities and Duties:

·        Manage, analyze and strengthen current manufacturing and distribution flow

·        Identify inefficiencies in production lines or warehouse handling

·        Optimize layout to reduce travel distances and improve material flow

·        Introduce lean or Six Sigma practices to cut waste and improve quality

·        Integrate meaningful automation or digital tools to monitor and control operations real time

·        Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with peers and direct reports

·        Establish a collaborative and team-centered environment


Key Skills and Traits:

·        Strong work ethic and commitment to growth and development

·        Strong communicational skills, verbal and written, whether in person, email or virtual

·        Exceptional attention to detail with manufacturing and distribution systems, and regulatory policies/procedures

·        Preferred (but not mandatory) experience with automation, robotics, and data-driven systems

·        Willing to learn new tasks with a track record of excelling

·        Experience with ERP software preferred, but not necessary (i.e. Oracle/NetSuite)


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering. Proficiency in process design, lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma (preferred), automation and quality control. Experience with compliance programs oversight is also preferred, but not necessary. Those with little experience but willing to learn are encouraged to apply.

Good organizational skills.  Reputation for integrity.  Willing to collaborate cross functionally with operations, regulatory, finance, marketing and sales teams.  Responsible and cooperative attitude. Individual should be professional in appearance and behavior. All with the minimum credentials, some experience, strong work ethic, and a willingness to grow and learn are encouraged to apply.
