Position Summary... What you'll do...Role summary:
As an Associate Merchant, you will support category management by facilitating supplier negotiations, managing purchase orders, and resolving supplier-related issues to ensure accurate product setup for stores and online channels. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience through effective communication and data-driven insights. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and promotional activities while leveraging analytical tools to support category performance. The position requires a strong focus on operational excellence, vendor relationship management, and alignment with organizational goals to deliver value and drive business results.
About the team:
The team is dedicated to delivering a seamless and efficient shopping experience by managing the end-to-end digital journey for customers. Focused on vendor relationship management, category strategy, and supplier coordination, the team ensures accurate product assortment and pricing. Leveraging data analysis and e-commerce expertise, they support merchandising decisions and promotional activities. Collaboration across functions drives continuous improvement and operational excellence. This team plays a key role in aligning business goals with customer needs, maintaining high standards, and fostering a results-oriented environment that supports Walmart’s commitment to value and quality.
What you'll do:
  • Support merchants in supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders for assigned categories.
  • Assist in resolving supplier issues and facilitate the setup of new suppliers for stores and online channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute customer communication and education programs.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of product page content and maintain taxonomy guidelines.
  • Analyze category performance data to support budgeting, forecasting, and sales reporting.
  • Implement approved feature proposals and modular assortment strategies across channels.
  • Leverage data analysis tools to generate insights and support decision-making processes.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in vendor relationship management and supplier negotiations within retail or e-commerce environments.
  • Strong skills in category strategy development and product assortment planning to support business growth.
  • Ability to analyze data effectively, leveraging insights to influence merchandising decisions and optimize category performance.
  • Proficiency in managing purchase orders, supplier issue resolution, and item setup for both stores and online channels.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate cross-functionally and support execution of promotional features and modular assortment strategies.

The annual salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $156,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
