NetImpact Strategies is seeking a Communications Specialist (Mid-Level) to join our team. This role supports strategic communications initiatives for a federal client, ensuring clear, consistent, and effective messaging across stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring experience in communications planning, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change management (OCM) to support mission-critical transformation efforts.
*This position requires candidates to reside within a 50-mile radius of Scott Air Force Base (Scott AFB), IL, as you will be required on-site 3 days a week for recurring meetings.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key representative, aligning with organizational priorities through effective communication and relationship management to ensure superior service delivery and positive customer connection
  • Understand client needs and preferences, addressing concerns promptly to enhance customer experience and expand service offerings
  • Develop compelling storytelling and editorial direction for communication artifacts ensuring consistency in messaging
  • Use visual storytelling techniques to communicate complex changes in an accessible way, helping stakeholders adopt new processes and transition smoothly to the future state
  • Craft and refine messages to align with the organization's brand and strategic goals, ensuring communications are clear, concise, and engaging for stakeholders
  • Collaborate with OCM specialists, graphic designers, and the client to create content that aligns with OCM assessments and stakeholder management insights
  • Supervise the design and creation of graphics, digital media, and visual content for change effort communications across a diversity of formats (e.g., briefings, newsletters, flyers, posters, fact sheets, websites, social media, news and announcements, trifolds, and branding materials)
  • Develop and implement social media strategies for clients to increase engagement and reach among stakeholders, coordinating with web designers, and content creators
  • Monitor social media trends, respond to stakeholder inquiries, and ensure consistent messaging across all digital communication channels
  • Leads the refinement of a seamless customer experience across all communication touchpoints, such as conference content, briefings, and social media
  • Ensure all communication materials adhere to copyright regulations, brand guidelines, and organizational values
  • Develop comprehensive communication strategies and engagement plans to support the client program
  • Define clear communication goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts
  • Track and analyze communication effectiveness using metrics such as audience reach, engagement, and sentiment analysis to inform adjustments to strategies and tactics
  • Work closely with program offices, graphic designers, and other communication teams to ensure consistent and coordinated messaging across all communication channels

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • Federal Consulting Experience
  • At least 3-6 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields, with a strong track record of leading communication initiatives
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, concise messaging
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of OCM theories and models (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter's 8-step Model, Lewin's Change Management Model)
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Scott AFB, IL
  • Eligible for Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certification in Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent fields is a plus
  • Additional certifications in leadership or strategic communication are advantageous
  • Expertise in visual storytelling, graphic design, and the creation of digital media
