Stanton is the leading designer and supplier of decorative high quality self-branded carpet, custom fabricated rugs and hard surfaces. Stanton sells its products across the mid to high end residential as well as decorative commercial marketplaces. Stanton is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Marketing Hard Surface to lead the marketing strategy and execution for our growing hard surface flooring business. This individual will serve as the marketing expert for hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, and future hard surface categories, acting as the bridge between Product Development, Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
This role requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, product marketing expertise, and channel knowledge, with a deep understanding of how hard surface flooring is marketed and sold through independent flooring retailers, engagement with interior designers, specifiers, architects and additional channel opportunities. The ideal candidate understands not only how to launch products, but how to build compelling stories that create demand, support the sales organization, and strengthen Stanton's position as a premium design brand.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Product Marketing
  • Lead annual marketing strategies, build brand awareness, initiate go-to-market planning, and hard surface product positioning.
  • Identify market opportunities through competitive analysis and consumer insights.
  • Translate technical product features into customer-focused benefits.
  • Partner with Product Development on assortment planning and lifecycle management.
  • Lead collaboration across Product, Sales, Digital, and Operations to ensure execution and launch success.
  • Primary point of contact with trade publications to oversee product copywriting, advertising schedule and cultivate trade publication partnerships.

Channel Marketing
  • Drive growth through Stanton's retail dealer networks and building a strong presence within the interior design community, pushing business to our retail channel.
  • Collaborate with product development on all merchandising and point-of-sale solutions that elevate the in-store experience.
  • Build marketing initiatives that support both independent flooring retailers and national buying groups.
  • Support sales promotions, customer events, and dealer activation campaigns.
  • Collaborate on retailer-specific marketing opportunities and co-op initiatives.

Sales Enablement
  • Equip sales team with launch tools including product launch campaigns, presentation materials, training resources, installation and product education materials, FAQ documents, and Spec Sheets.
  • Partner with sales leadership to identify and address marketplace needs.
  • Manage the branding within the merchandising efforts and create compelling in store signage

Brand & Content Development
  • Work with graphics and digital team to ensure brand alignment across photography, video, digital content, social media and sales material
  • Develop compelling storytelling around innovation, performance, craftsmanship, and design and update and maintain product catalogs.
  • Evaluate and improve direct to consumer sampling experience along with soft surface team.
  • Work in collaboration with product management to develop time to revenue calendar and new product introduction calendar.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience, preferably within flooring.
  • Strong understanding of hard surface flooring categories including hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, and resilient products.
  • Experience developing product launches and go-to-market strategies.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Experience using Asana a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred experience marketing through independent retailers, buying groups, designers, builders
  • Experience working with premium brands is highly preferred.
