What is a digital insurance agent?

A Digital Insurance Agent is a licensed professional who sells and manages insurance policies primarily through online platforms and digital communication tools. Unlike traditional agents who rely on face-to-face meetings, digital agents use websites, email, chat, and video calls to interact with clients. Their role involves recommending coverage options, answering customer questions, and streamlining the application and claims process using technology. Digital Insurance Agents often work for insurance companies, digital brokerages, or as independent contractors. Their digital approach makes insurance services more accessible and efficient for clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital insurance agent?

To thrive as a Digital Insurance Agent, you need a solid understanding of insurance products, sales techniques, and regulatory compliance, often supported by a relevant license. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, digital communication platforms, and online quoting tools is typical for the role. Strong interpersonal skills, digital literacy, and the ability to build trust remotely set top performers apart. These skills enable agents to effectively engage clients, streamline processes, and deliver personalized service in a digital-first insurance environment.

What are some common challenges faced by digital insurance agents, and how can they be addressed?

Digital Insurance Agents often face challenges such as adapting to rapidly changing technology platforms, maintaining strong client relationships without in-person meetings, and staying up-to-date with evolving insurance products. To overcome these, agents should invest time in ongoing training, utilize digital communication tools to foster trust with clients, and collaborate closely with their team for knowledge sharing. Proactively engaging with clients through personalized digital interactions and leveraging CRM systems can also help strengthen client loyalty and streamline workflows.

What is the difference between Digital Insurance Agent vs Insurance Broker?

AspectDigital Insurance AgentInsurance Broker
CredentialsMay require insurance licenses, certifications in digital salesLicensed insurance broker, often with broader certifications
Work EnvironmentOnline platforms, digital tools, remote workOffice-based or remote, client meetings, broker offices
Employer & Industry UsageInsurance companies, online agencies, insurtech firmsIndependent or agency-based, multiple insurance providers
Search & Comparison IntentCustomer-focused, digital sales, policy recommendationsClient advocacy, policy comparison across providers

While both roles involve selling insurance policies, a Digital Insurance Agent primarily operates online, leveraging digital tools to reach customers and sell policies. An Insurance Broker acts as an intermediary, offering clients a range of policies from different providers, often through in-person or traditional channels. Understanding these differences helps consumers and professionals choose the right role or service for their needs.

Job description

Are you someone who takes pride in a spotless vehicle and wants to work at the intersection of car care and future tech?
Moove AV is looking for a dedicated Autonomous Vehicle Detailer to join our depot operations. This role is a specialized cleaning and charging position, similar to a "Vehicle Prep" or "Service Agent" role in the rental car industry. You are the final line of defense in ensuring our autonomous fleet is pristine, powered up, and ready for our riders.
What you'll do

  • Interior and exterior cleaning. Wash, vacuum, and detail vehicles to a published standard. Sensor surfaces (cameras, lidar) require specific cleaning procedures; training is provided.
  • Charging operations. Move vehicles between charging stalls, plug and unplug per the daily queue, and flag charging faults (bad cables, stuck ports, low state of charge) through the correct escalation channel.
  • Sanitization and biohazard response. Prepare sanitization kits and disinfect interiors between trips. Respond to biohazard incidents (vomit, blood, spills) per OSHA blood-borne pathogen protocol. Full PPE and training are provided.
  • Digital logging and status updates. Track vehicle status in our fleet software and communicate readiness in Google Chat. Vehicles don't move until they're marked ready; accuracy matters.
  • Staging and handoff. Park vehicles in assigned staging zones and confirm handoff to the deployment team.
What we're looking for
  • Prior experience in high-volume vehicle cleaning, such as rental car, dealership recon, or professional detailing.
  • Comfort with basic digital tools - phone or tablet apps, chat-based communication, simple status logging.
  • Attention to detail that extends beyond cosmetics: you catch smudged sensors, cables not fully seated, or batteries below target, rather than missing them.
  • Ability to follow documented SOPs and escalate anything outside them rather than improvise.
  • Physical requirements: standing and moving for the full shift length, lifting up to 20 lbs, and working outdoors in Miami weather (heat, humidity, rain) in a partially covered lot.
Working at the Depot
At Moove AV, our depot is a tech-forward environment. While your primary tools will be cleaning supplies and charging cables, you will be an integral part of an autonomous operations team. We provide a structured, safety-focused workplace where your work directly impacts the rider experience.
Why Moove?
  • Competitive pay starting at $20.00/hr
  • Comprehensive health coverage - Medical, Dental, and Vision, including employer-paid plans with zero out-of-pocket cost
  • Paid Time Off to rest and recharge
  • Holiday Pay
  • Real room to grow - we invest in our people and promote from within

Apply today to help us keep the future of transportation clean and fully charged.
Drug-Free Workplace Statement
Moove is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all employees. We are a Drug-Free Workplace. Applicants who receive a conditional offer of employment may be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening.
Safety-Sensitive Addendum
This role is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Position. As such, the company strictly prohibits the use of any substance - legal or illegal - that may impair an employee's ability to perform their duties safely. Compliance with the company's drug testing policy is a mandatory condition of employment.
Driving Requirements/Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Notification
This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle for company business. Therefore, any offer of employment is contingent upon the receipt of a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving history in accordance with our insurance carrier's standards. Ongoing monitoring of driving records may be conducted during the course of employment.
