Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented digital press operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating digital presses in a fast-paced printing environment, with strong mechanical aptitude, computer literacy, and a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a full web screen digital press, ensuring efficient and high-quality output.
  • Conduct daily startup, calibration, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
  • Load and unload print media, handling materials safely and efficiently.
  • Process RIP files using proprietary printer software.
  • Monitor color consistency, making adjustments and recalibrating as needed to meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate logs for ink, paper, production, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues, collaborating with service technicians and supervisors when necessary.
  • Communicate clearly with prepress, pressroom, and support teams to ensure smooth workflow.

 Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in a pressroom, prepress, or bindery operator role within a printing environment.
  • Strong mechanical skills and the ability to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Excellent computer skills and basic math proficiency; ability to read a ruler and interpret job specifications.
  • Keen attention to detail; able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to see and monitor color accurately.
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork and troubleshooting.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  •  Operates in a manufacturing/press room environment with exposure to loud noise, ink, and paper dust.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy rolls and print materials (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]).
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be available for shifts that may include evenings, weekends, or overtime during peak production periods.
