Position Overview:

WSOP is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to lead the marketing and continued expansion of WSOP Academy, our digital poker education platform. This role will oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies designed to acquire new customers, increase engagement, improve conversion and retention, and grow revenue. The Digital Marketing Specialist will work closely with Product, Content, Analytics, CRM, Social, Partnerships, and other WSOP teams to develop programs that support the continued growth of the Academy business. The ideal candidate will bring strong digital and performance marketing experience, sound business judgment, and a proven ability to manage both strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Retention

  • Develop programs that increase Academy engagement, course consumption, repeat purchases, and customer retention.
  • Lead lifecycle marketing initiatives across email, push notifications, in-app messaging, promotions, and re-engagement.
  • Partner with Product and Content teams to improve the customer experience and increase use of the platform.
  • Analyze customer behavior and marketing performance to identify opportunities and inform future initiatives.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies and marketing plans for WSOP Academy.
  • Establish a structured approach to testing audiences, creative, messaging, offers, and conversion opportunities.
  • Leverage WSOP events, tournaments, personalities, social channels, and content to support Academy awareness and customer acquisition.
  • Develop relationships with poker creators, instructors, ambassadors, affiliates, and other strategic partners.


Cross-Functionality

  • Work closely with Product, Analytics, CRM, Social, Content, Partnerships, Finance, and broader WSOP Marketing teams.
  • Manage outside agencies and marketing partners as needed.
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on customer acquisition, marketing performance, key opportunities, and priorities.
  • Help establish the processes, capabilities, and resources needed to support the continued expansion of Academy.


Qualifications:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in television, digital advertising, media sales, sponsorships, sports, entertainment, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience selling television and digital advertising.
  • Proven track record of consistently generating new business, growing revenue, and retaining and expanding client relationships.
  • Experience developing and selling integrated media, advertising, sponsorship, and social media opportunities.
  • Experience developing and executing social media marketing and advertising strategies as part of broader brand and media partnerships.
  • Ability to work across sales, marketing, social, creative, and content teams to develop compelling advertising and partnership opportunities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and building a sales function in a fast-moving environment.


Preferred Experience:

  • A background in marketing digital products, mobile apps, subscription businesses, or direct-to-consumer products.
  • A track record of building and scaling customer acquisition programs across paid and organic channels.
  • Strong knowledge of app marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM, conversion optimization, and retention strategies.
  • A data-driven approach to testing, measuring, and improving marketing performance and investment.
  • The ability to develop go-to-market plans for new products, features, and growth opportunities.
  • Proven success managing agencies, marketing partners, and external vendors.
