The California Post is the West Coast newsroom from the New York Post, delivering original reporting, breaking news, and culture coverage tailored to California audiences. This internship offers hands-on newsroom experience from day one, working with editors, reporters, producers, and digital journalists to contribute to live coverage and develop journalism skills.

Whether your goal is to become a reporter, editor, digital producer, or newsroom leader, this is an opportunity to build your resume, strengthen your portfolio, earn college credit where applicable, and gain practical experience at one of the countryโ€™s fastest growing media organizations.

Program Details
  • Program Dates: September 14, 2026 โ€“ November 20, 2026 (10 weeks)
  • Schedule: 24 hours per week
  • Location: On site in our Los Angeles (Century City) newsroom
  • Compensation: $20.00 per hour
  • College Credit: Eligible where applicable through your institution
Qualifications
  • Ambitious, curious, and resourceful storytellers excited to learn in a fast paced, collaborative newsroom
  • Current juniors and seniors pursuing a bachelorโ€™s degree, current masterโ€™s students, or recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year
  • Candidates pursuing degrees in Journalism, Communications, English, Digital Media, Broadcasting, or related fields are encouraged to apply
  • Special consideration for applicants with prior journalism, newsroom, campus media, student newspaper, broadcast, digital media, or reporting experience, including internships or published work
