Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropic Operations, the Foundation Specialist serves as the primary project manager and strategic liaison between FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake Foundation teams and the health system Marketing & Communications department. This position leads the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing and communications projects that support fundraising, donor engagement, stewardship, events, and philanthropic impact storytelling.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropic Operations, the Foundation Specialist serves as the primary project manager and strategic liaison between FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake Foundation teams and the health system Marketing & Communications department. This position leads the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing and communications projects that support fundraising, donor engagement, stewardship, events, and philanthropic impact storytelling.

The successful candidate will excel at managing multiple concurrent projects, cultivating collaborative relationships, ensuring deadlines are met, and guiding projects from concept through completion. Strong writing and content creation skills are required, with particular emphasis on digital communications, social media, donor-facing content, and campaign messaging.

Strategic Communications & Project Management (40%)

  • Serve as the primary communications project manager for all Foundation initiatives requiring marketing, creative, digital, print, video, or media support.

  • Act as the day-to-day liaison between Foundation teams and FMOLHS Marketing & Communications to ensure projects are prioritized, developed, reviewed, and delivered on schedule.

  • Manage all communication requests through designated project management platforms and oversee project timelines, approvals, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.

  • Develop annual communications calendars aligned with Foundation fundraising priorities, stewardship initiatives, campaigns, and events.

  • Facilitate communication planning meetings and coordinate cross-functional teams to keep projects moving efficiently from concept to completion.

  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify obstacles, competing priorities, and resource needs.

Content Development & Storytelling (25%)

  • Draft, edit, and proofread donor-facing and public-facing communications including emails, social media content, website content, impact stories, fundraising appeals, stewardship messaging, talking points, news releases, and campaign materials.

  • Develop engaging content that communicates the impact of philanthropy across the ministry.

  • Collaborate with Foundation leadership and frontline fundraisers to translate fundraising priorities into compelling donor communications.

  • Support the development of impact reports, campaign materials, presentations, and donor recognition communications.

  • Gather stories, quotes, photos, and outcomes from internal stakeholders to support philanthropic storytelling efforts.

Fundraising & Campaign Communications (20%)

  • Partner with annual giving, major gifts, donor relations, Children's Miracle Network, and events teams to develop communication strategies and supporting materials.

  • Coordinate production of fundraising collateral including proposals, sponsorship materials, invitations, event programs, email campaigns, social media assets, videos, and donor stewardship materials.

  • Support multi-channel fundraising campaigns through collaboration with FMOLHS Marketing & Communications.

Digital Presence & Brand Management (15%)

  • Maintain and enhance Foundation web content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organizational priorities.\

  • Manage Foundation social media strategy and content calendar, tracking engagement and recommending opportunities for growth.

  • Ensure communications adhere to organizational brand standards and messaging guidelines.

  • Research industry trends and best practices in nonprofit marketing, fundraising communications, and digital engagement.

Required Knowledge and Skill Qualifications:

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders and drive projects to completion under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.

  • 5 years applicable experience

Preferred Competencies:

  • Strong written communication skills across digital, social, promotional, and donor-facing channels.
