Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Content Specialist (Enrollment) works under the general direction of the Office of Admission to create compelling, platform-native content that helps students see themselves at SLU - from their first impression on social media to their decision to apply and enroll. This position designs and produces multimedia assets for social, email and visit event promotions. This position collaborates with the admission communication team to translate email strategy into visually compelling, conversion-focused emails sent from our customer relationship management system (Slate). Additionally, this position supports and maintains University brand standards and best practices for digital media.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works closely with the communication team to design and implement visual content within Slate Deliver mailings including email headers, graphics and modular layouts
  • Designs and implements visual content for relevant social media platforms such as Instagram
  • Manages social media channels and content for the Office of Admission, which includes collaborating with professional and student staff to develop new content when necessary, managing changes both anticipated and spontaneous, monitoring shifting trends within higher education and responding to engagement and periodically auditing existing content; manages web-based social media manager platform
  • Builds data-driven visual strategies using Slate queries
  • Collaborates with various units within the Office of Admission, the Division of Enrollment Management, and other areas of the University to create visual content for projects to support greater university- and division-wide goals
  • Creates short-form storytelling video content; shoots, edits and produces short-form video content, creates motion graphics and animated elements
  • Adapts content for different audiences (undergraduate, graduate, parents, families, counselors, etc.)
  • Develops and designs compelling slide decks for the office and division
  • Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of design software (Adobe Creative Cloud applications) and technologies
  • Knowledge of content management systems and email marketing applications
  • Knowledge of social media trends, branding and marketing strategies
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CC for email formatting and responsive email design principles
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality service

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Remote/In-person Expectations
This position will require the individual to work in the office with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule, up to two days per week remotely, upon completion of the first 6 months of initial onsite training and familiarizing with department work and operations in compliance with the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.
