Job description

Warehouse Associate

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for pre-loading, loading, unloading, and organizing long-length materials while operating forklifts safely and efficiently. This role supports shipping, receiving, and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely material handling.

Essential Job Duties

  • Pre-load trucks by pulling all material listed on printed orders and staging appropriately.
  • Load and unload trailers using a forklift.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move long-length materials (20ft, 24ft, and longer).
  • Maintain organized, tidy material storage on correct racks and designated locators.
  • Load curtain-side, Conestoga-style, and hard-side trailers using proper straps, standards, and securement methods to prevent material damage.
  • Receive and follow verbal instructions regarding material needs for various departments.
  • Perform general material handling duties within the assigned work area and assist teammates as needed.
  • Assist with cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and dock areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to spot trailers at the dock for loading and unloading.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift certification required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience operating forklifts to handle large and long materials.
  • Strong attention to safety and proper load securement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
