While Digital Asset Management focuses on organizing and maintaining digital files, Content Coordinators handle the planning and execution of content distribution. Both roles often collaborate but serve distinct functions within digital media workflows.

What is digital asset management?

Digital asset management (DAM) refers to the processes and systems used to organize, store, retrieve, and distribute digital assets such as images, videos, documents, and other media files. DAM solutions help businesses efficiently manage large volumes of digital content, ensuring assets are easily accessible, secure, and correctly tagged with metadata. These systems streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and support brand consistency across marketing and creative teams. Effective DAM can save time, reduce duplication of assets, and improve overall productivity.

What are some common challenges faced in a digital asset management role, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Digital Asset Management often encounter challenges such as organizing large volumes of assets, ensuring proper metadata tagging, and maintaining user access controls. Balancing the needs of various departments while keeping the DAM system intuitive and efficient can also be complex. To address these challenges, it is essential to establish clear organizational standards, provide ongoing training for team members, and regularly audit asset libraries for consistency. Collaboration with IT, marketing, and creative teams is vital to ensure the DAM system supports organizational goals and remains scalable as asset needs grow.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital asset manager?

To thrive as a Digital Asset Manager, you need expertise in organizing, cataloging, and maintaining digital files, often backed by a degree in information science, library science, or a related field. Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems like Adobe Experience Manager, metadata standards, and workflow automation tools is typically required. Strong attention to detail, project management abilities, and effective communication skills help you collaborate with creative, marketing, and IT teams. These skills ensure the efficient storage, retrieval, and secure use of digital assets, supporting productivity and brand consistency.

What do digital asset managers do?

Digital asset managers are responsible for organizing, storing, and maintaining digital files such as images, videos, and documents. They use specialized software like digital asset management (DAM) systems to ensure assets are easily accessible, properly categorized, and secure, often collaborating with creative and marketing teams. Strong organizational skills and knowledge of metadata, file formats, and security protocols are essential in this role.

Job description

At Cie, we specialize in two things - helping big companies grow faster & launching new startups.

We're searching for a high-energy, resourceful Marketing Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. A true sponge for knowledge, you'll put your creativity in the driver's seat to fuel innovative campaigns for our automotive client. From building creator partnerships and executing high-energy events to analyzing campaign performance and identifying the next trend before it hits the mainstream, you'll play a key role in bringing impactful marketing initiatives to life.

Success in this role requires someone who is eager to take ownership independently when it comes to new challenges, excels at creative storytelling, builds authentic relationships, and keeps projects moving from concept to launch with precision. If you're detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about car culture, you'll help keep our campaigns running at peak performance and our brand miles ahead of the competition.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with content creators, fostering long-term partnerships that boost brand advocacy and authentic audience engagement.
  • Bring creative assets to life through social media and email campaigns, developing engaging marketing copy and content that connects with enthusiasts, strengthens brand storytelling, and expands audience engagement.
  • Identify emerging content trends and platform innovations across the social media landscape to keep marketing initiatives ahead of the curve.
  • Partner with the Audience Growth team to analyze campaign performance, interpret key metrics, and translate insights into data-informed marketing strategies.
  • Represent the brand at automotive events by engaging with creators, enthusiasts, and industry partners, while transforming event moments into captivating social content that sparks conversation and excitement across the community.
  • Coordinate project workflows and ensure deliverables stay on track across internal teams, agency partners, and creators.
  • Lead bi-monthly cross-functional meetings to align stakeholders on campaign objectives, project milestones, performance insights, and upcoming initiatives.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and digital asset management systems, ensuring all files, creative assets, and marketing materials remain current, accurate, and ready to support fast-moving campaigns.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing, brand, social media, or other customer-facing role
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with creators, brand partners, and internal teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and execute with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability and comfortable with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment
  • Proficiency in KPI reporting, data analysis, storytelling, and making strategic recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A bonus if you have:

  • Experience working in the automotive, motorsports, lifestyle, consumer, or enthusiast brand space
  • Experience managing creator and influencer relationships, social media communities, or brand ambassador programs
  • Experience supporting high-energy live events and brand activations
  • Passion for automotive culture, vehicles, and the enthusiast community

Beyond the paycheck:

At Cie, we're looking for bright, independent, self-motivated, and experienced people who have an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for technology. Our compensation package consists of a full suite of benefits to support our growing team.

  • Profit Sharing: You get a piece of each of our start-ups and share in end-of-year company profits
  • Health/Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage with generous employer allowance + 100% employer-paid Life & Disability Insurance
  • PTO: Generous PTO offering & 10 company holidays + yearly floating holiday
  • Investing for the future: 401(k) with employer match
  • Office Perks: Onsite gym, monthly catered lunches, quarterly teambuilding activities, and a brand-new office with a stocked kitchen, games, and food options onsite
  • The right gear: All the technology and assets you need to drive results
