Join University Libraries and help lead the technologies and digital-resource infrastructure that connect our community to reliable, accessible, and user-centered discovery and research resources.

Job Summary

Leads the technologies and digital-resource infrastructure supporting discovery, authentication, accessibility, and delivery. This position administers core systems, manages the technical lifecycle of electronic resources, and supplies evidence for collaborative collection decisions.

Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesSystems and Discovery
  • General administrator for Alma, Primo, and related integrations; coordinate with other staff on configuration, release testing, and functionality.
  • Ensure reliable discovery and delivery of physical and electronic resources; troubleshoot indexing, display, linking, interoperability, and access issues.
  • Manage API integrations, authentication protocols (including proxy servers), and system interoperability to ensure consistent, barrier-free access across platforms.
  • Address staff and patron inquiries and troubleshoot system and electronic resources issues and outages in collaboration with Information Technology Services.
  • Maintain system documentation and translate technical updates into sustainable library workflows.
Electronic Resources and Accessibility
  • Process acquisitions and invoice records for electronic subscriptions.
  • Manage the technical lifecycle of electronic resources, including trials, activation, access configuration, renewal support, cancellation, and post-cancellation access.
  • Maintain electronic holdings, coverage dates, license terms, accessibility documentation, and perpetual-access information.
  • Serve as primary technical contact for electronic-resource vendors and system providers.
  • Analyze usage, cost-per-use, overlap, platform performance, and access data; provide findings to the University Librarian for selection and renewal decisions.
  • Monitor digital accessibility requirements, including WCAG and Section 508, and apply them to library systems and licensed resources.
  • Identify, document, communicate, and track accessibility barriers and remediation progress.
Teaching and Liaison Services
  • Provide in-person and online research consultations and referrals.
  • Teach information-literacy sessions and credit- or non-credit-bearing courses as assigned.
  • Serve as liaison to assigned academic units and translate curriculum, research, and instructional needs into collection priorities.
Faculty Collaboration, Scholarship, and Service
  • Co-manage Collections Management department with Acquisitions and Cataloging Librarian.
  • Collaborate with the Acquisitions and Cataloging Librarian on accurate order, holdings, and metadata workflows.
  • Represent the libraries on systems, electronic-resources, and accessibility consortial groups.
  • Maintain expertise through continuing education, scholarship, presentations, or professional participation.
  • Serve on library and university committees, contribute to shared governance, and complete other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • An MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Experience with Alma, Primo, and OCLC.
  • At least two years of relevant systems, electronic-resource, or library-technology experience.
  • Experience supporting a library services platform, discovery layer, authentication environment, or electronic-resource knowledge base.
  • Commitment to inclusive, accessible, user-centered library service and continuous learning.
  • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing licensed resources in an academic or multi-site library.
  • Experience with usage statistics, license data, or accessibility documentation.
  • Experience with EZproxy or SAML.
  • Working knowledge of digital accessibility standards.
  • Experience supervising student workers.
Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in an office and library environment. Constant computer use; frequent standing and walking; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and exposure to weather between buildings.
