Diesel Mechanic โ€“ Job Description

Essel is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in a variety of vehicles and equipment. A strong understanding of diesel technology, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines as well as other mechanical components.
    • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, ignition systems, transmissions, and electrical components.
    • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general vehicle overhaul.
    • Maintain and update service records for vehicles and equipment.
    • Replace or repair defective parts and components, ensuring quality standards are met.
    • Respond promptly to service requests and work effectively in a team setting to complete repairs in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that all work areas are clean and safe in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
    • Keep abreast of the latest technology in diesel mechanics and attend training as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a diesel mechanic program or certification is preferred.
