Job description

A leading power generation facility is seeking a Power Plant Operator to monitor and control boilers, turbines, and auxiliary plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous facility operations. This position is responsible for maintaining productive boiler combustion, maximizing power generation, monitoring emissions and environmental compliance, and supporting the overall performance of the plant. The ideal candidate will possess a Massachusetts 2nd Class Engineer's License and experience operating steam-generating, boiler, turbine, or power generation systems.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor and control boilers, turbines, and auxiliary plant equipment from the control room and throughout the facility
* Monitor plant operating conditions, performance data, and emissions systems
* Respond to changing plant conditions to maximize safety, reliability, efficiency, and environmental compliance
* Maintain productive boiler combustion, steam generation, and in-plant power consumption
* Conduct equipment inspections and support planned plant outages
* Perform routine mechanical tasks including equipment inspections, valve maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
* Assist with training and directing plant personnel as needed
* Support safe plant operations while adhering to company policies and environmental permits
* Maintain operating logs, reports, and documentation
Qualifications:
* Massachusetts 2nd Class Engineer's License (Required)
* Experience operating steam-generating equipment, boilers, turbines, or power generation systems
* Knowledge of power plant operations, control room functions, and environmental compliance requirements
* Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
* Ability to monitor and respond to changing operating conditions
