EFP Staffing is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic / Mechanic Helper for a well-established industrial facility in Ontario, CA.

We are looking for a mechanically inclined candidate with a strong foundation in general mechanical maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate does not need to have experience in every area listed below. Our client is willing to train the right candidate on additional skills as long as they have solid hands-on mechanical experience, a willingness to learn, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in industrial maintenance, fleet maintenance, diesel mechanics, forklift repair, trailer repair, or general mechanical work who wants to continue developing their skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general mechanical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components and equipment.
  • Assist with forklift maintenance and repairs.
  • Work with diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Assist with hydraulic system repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting as needed.
  • Assist with air brake and hydraulic brake repairs.
  • Perform MIG welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
  • Assist with trailer inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Help with trailer suspension, brake, and tire repairs.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
  • Identify mechanical issues and assist with determining the appropriate repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous hands-on mechanical experience is preferred.
  • Strong foundation in general mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
    • Forklifts
    • Diesel engines
    • Gasoline engines
    • Hydraulics
    • Electrical systems
    • Air brakes
    • Hydraulic brakes
    • Trailers
    • Welding and fabrication
  • Welding experience with MIG or Arc/Stick is a plus.
  • Experience with torch cutting and fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools.
  • Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn new mechanical skills and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Training Provided

You do not need to know everything listed above to qualify.
