PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and repair cutting and shaping devices for machine tools such as jigs and fixtures
  • Design and build complicated dies from concept.
  • Lead a team of peers in projects and daily operations.
  • Remain productive in a self-managed environment.
  • Utilize all tool & die equipment in the highest efficiency capacity possible.
  • Be able to anticipate work flow in order to maximize labor utilization to peak efficiency.
  • Complete order entry for purchase requisitions anticipating future material requirements.
  • Represent the company and travel for evaluation of tooling.
  • Do precise handwork and will interpret blueprint and designer’s specifications

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Notify supervisor when issues arise
  • Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety analysis
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Attend daily safety department meetings
  • Good hand eye coordination
  • Communicate with supervisors and other team members throughout their shift to ensure daily tasks are clear
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Will be working around robots and using stamping machines and other machinery used to make parts.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and Blue Bird physical

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and fumes
  • Fast-paced environment with moving objects, sharp edges, and congested working areas
  • Will be pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching overhead, grasping, and lifting up to 50 pounds

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

  • Must meet established quality and production standards
  • Practice good housekeeping
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
