Job description

For 30 years, Diamond Landscaping has been the leader in luxury residential landscaping for high-net-worth clients, including A-list celebrities and media/entertainment executives, in the Los Angeles area. With a focus on custom installation, meticulous craftsmanship, and long-term maintenance, we create dream landscapes and build lifelong relationships.
As a skilled, full-time Arborist/Tree Care Climber, you will report to our Crew Leader, and you will be responsible for performing day-to-day tree care services for our prestigious clients with a commitment to excellence in all areas of tree care. Typical projects include working with equipment and tools to perform trimming, preventative maintenance, removals, climbing, and other necessary landscaping tasks.
Tree Climbing and Pruning
  • Safely climb trees using rope-and-saddle, SRT, and/or DRT systems.
  • Perform pruning, thinning, crown cleaning, crown reduction, and clearance pruning according to ANSI A300 standards.
  • Remove dead, diseased, or unsafe limbs to improve tree health and safety.

Tree Removal and Rigging
  • Execute safe and efficient tree removals, including technical removals in confined spaces.
  • Install rigging systems and operate lowering devices to safely control large limbs and wood.
  • Direct ground crew in rope handling and safe drop zones during removals.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
  • Operate and maintain chainsaws, pole saws, rigging equipment, and other arborist tools.
  • Inspect climbing gear and rigging equipment daily for safety compliance.
  • Assist in loading, hauling, and maintaining vehicles, chippers, and jobsite equipment.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow company safety protocols and OSHA/ANSI Z133 standards at all times.
  • Wear and maintain proper PPE while working aloft and on the ground.
  • Identify and report tree hazards and potential risks before and during work.
Teamwork & Worksite Management
  • Work closely with ground crew to ensure smooth and efficient job flow.
  • Provide direction to ground workers during climbing operations.
  • Assist in site clean-up, including brush chipping, raking, and wood hauling.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with clients and team members.
Professionalism
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work with a positive attitude.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance while representing the company.
  • Show respect to clients, crew members, and property at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of professional tree care experience, climbing and knowledge of rope systems
  • Experience with safe chainsaw use aloft and on the ground
  • Certification Preferred - ISA Arborist, QAL (Qualified Applicator License), TCIA, or CTSP
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Valid California driver's license and able to commute to jobs throughout Los Angeles area (Class C minimum, Class B CDL preferred)
