Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Supply Chain Financial Analyst based in Buffalo, NY.

Job Summary


The Financial Analyst supports the supply chain organization by providing accurate, timely financial reporting, cost analysis, and operational insights across U.S. logistics activities. Working closely with the Supply Chain Logistics Controlling Manager, this role assists in budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and the preparation of standardized reporting packages for freight, warehousing, and overall logistics performance. The Analyst partners with Supply Chain Accounting, Operations, Planning, and Finance teams to validate cost allocations, track performance trends, and support savings initiatives. This position contributes to the continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy while delivering high-quality analytical support for decision-making. The Analyst also plays a key role in ad-hoc analysis, integration projects, S&OP cost modeling, and preparing financial content for executive leadership.

Key responsibilities for this position include: 

  • Support the Supply Chain FP&A Manager in all budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial analysis activities across four U.S. Business Units.
  • Prepare monthly cost analysis and reporting packages for freight, warehousing, and logistics performance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Group reporting standards.
  • Assist in monthly close activities, including cost validation, variance analysis, accrual preparation, and research of account inconsistencies in partnership with the Supply Chain Accounting team.
  • Analyze logistics cost drivers and provide clear, data-driven insights to help leadership understand performance trends.
  • Support the development and consolidation of U.S. freight and warehousing budgets, maintaining templates, validating inputs, and helping identify risks and opportunities.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reporting, ensuring timely distribution of KPIs, dashboards, and analytics to Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
  • Assist in the standardization of reporting tools and processes to ensure consistent analytics and uniform financial reporting across all U.S. Business Units.
  • Respond to ad hoc analysis requests from the Supply Chain Logistics Controlling Manager, Finance leadership, and Operations teams, often involving cost modeling, data validation, or scenario analysis.
  • Support logistics cost allocations by validating rate tables, shipment data, warehousing activity, and other key inputs to ensure accurate cost distribution to subordinate business units.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving Operations, Planning, Procurement, and Accounting to improve reporting quality, support cost reduction initiatives, and enhance financial visibility.
  • Assist in preparing financial content and analysis for executive reviews, including presentations for the VP of Supply Chain and Group Supply Chain leadership.
  • Support the tracking and reporting of productivity and savings initiatives, ensuring accuracy of performance metrics and alignment with operations and procurement leaders.
  • Provide analytical support to the S&OP process, helping evaluate cost impacts of inventory planning, network changes, or volume fluctuations.
  • Help assess supply chain impacts related to new business integrations, including modeling cost implications, data gathering, and supporting the Manager with integration analysis.
  • Maintain and improve financial models, dashboards, and data sources used for recurring reporting, ensuring reliability, automation, and transparency.
  • Collaborate with Group Supply Chain management control teams to follow approved reporting standards, definitions, and performance methodologies.
  • Monitor key logistics trends (freight market changes, warehousing cost pressures, operational KPIs) and provide proactive insights to help leadership navigate risks and opportunities.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
 

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Majors in finance, economics, accounting, or supply chain are favored.

Experience 

  • Must possess a minimum of 3-4 years financial reporting experience, preferably in a Supply Chain / Logistics department of a consumer foods products company.
  • Significant experience in the dairy/cheese industry will be strongly preferred.

Certifications and specific knowledge 

  • Leadership, organizational, and communication skills appropriate to the position.
