Job description

Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: RYDE Racine's Paratransit services in Racine provide ADA-compliant, Dial-a-Ride Transportation for seniors and individuals with mobility challenges. Our wheelchair-accessible vehicles ensure safe and convenient travel, catering to the specific needs of our riders. Experience reliable and inclusive Paratransit services in Racine with us.

Essential Duties Safe operation of the bus according to established rules, practices and published schedules. Comply with DOT/FTA and ADA guidelines, rules and regulations. Provides general information to passengers on how to use the D.A.R.T

transportation services provided by RYDE Racine. Collect fares and D.A.R.T. tickets from passengers and account for daily fares on required paperwork

Treat all customers with friendliness and consideration. Take special care to meet the needs of persons with disabilities per ADA and company guidelines. Operate lift in accordance with proper procedures.

Secure wheelchairs properly. Perform safety and operational inspection of bus to ensure passenger comfort and bus reliability. Report any defects to maintenance personnel on proper forms.

Conform to all bulletins and special notices. Comply with current labor agreement between union and management. Take direction from supervisors and dispatchers.

Report to work on time and maintain good attendance record. Complete reports and other paperwork as required. Must be able to work irregular hours.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to communicate well with the public. Good customer relations and people skills. Must be able to read and complete basic reports.

Good driving record. Qualifications MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid WI drivers license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency.

Supplemental Information PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION: Performance requires a normal physical ability to do some bending, light lifting and carrying. Ability to pass a physical examination and drug test. This is a safety-sensitive position, subject to random drug/alcohol testing per DOT rules and regulations.
