Job Description:

The Tennessee Department of Health's Division of Family Health and Wellness (FHW) is seeking a highly motivated, qualified individual to fill a Public Health Program Director 1 contract position. 
The Public Health Program Director 1 position is housed within the Tobacco Use Prevention & Control Program. 
This contract position will work closely with program and evaluation staff to implement evidence-based strategies designed to address the tobacco use and prevention among youth and young adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement evidence-based programs/initiatives to address tobacco prevention among youth and young adults.
Assist and support schools with the implementation of tobacco prevention and cessation initiatives.
Work with the tobacco team to plan and implement youth engagement trainings for tobacco prevention.
Participate in regular trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to tobacco prevention and control and the FHW division.
Develop and maintain cooperative, collaborative, working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives.
Updates and uses relevant knowledge to support the implementation of health education interventions and programs for the community.
Identifies the educational needs of others, supports program staff in the development of educational training programs or classes, and teaches and instructs others.
Assists with the design and delivery of relevant training programs for health department employees, teachers, and other professionals
Prepare and distribute program materials to internal and external stakeholders that conduct tobacco prevention programs.
