Job Summary

Equinix is seeking a DevSecOps Platform Engineer to help build, support, and improve our cloud-native platform engineering and security automation capabilities. This role will contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, platform automation, security integrations, and emerging AI-powered operational workflows that improve developer productivity and platform reliability.

Working closely with platform, security, and software engineering teams, you will help implement solutions that enhance the software delivery lifecycle while supporting secure and scalable infrastructure.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys automation, cloud technologies, modern DevSecOps practices, and exploring practical applications of AI within engineering operations.

Responsibilities

CI/CD & Platform Engineering

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and related tooling

  • Develop and maintain automation that improves deployment consistency, operational efficiency, and developer experience

  • Assist with implementation and support of cloud-native applications and platform services

  • Support containerized application deployments within Kubernetes environments

  • Troubleshoot pipeline, deployment, and runtime issues in partnership with engineering teams

DevSecOps & Security Automation

  • Implement and maintain security scanning tools including SAST, DAST, and SCA within CI/CD workflows

  • Assist with integrating security controls throughout the software development lifecycle

  • Support secure management of secrets, credentials, and identity access controls

  • Contribute to policy-as-code initiatives and automated compliance controls

  • Partner with Security teams to implement practical security guardrails that align with engineering workflows

AI-Enabled Engineering Automation

  • Assist in developing AI-assisted workflows that improve operational efficiency and developer productivity

  • Contribute to retrieval-based solutions that provide access to engineering documentation, runbooks, and operational knowledge

  • Support implementation of agent-based automation using modern AI frameworks

  • Apply established security, governance, and monitoring controls when integrating AI capabilities into engineering workflows

  • Participate in evaluating AI solutions for effectiveness, reliability, and operational value

Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

  • Support cloud infrastructure running within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments

  • Assist with infrastructure automation and configuration management activities

  • Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response activities

  • Contribute to platform observability and operational improvements

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities

  • Document technical solutions, operational procedures, and engineering standards

  • Collaborate with engineers across Platform, Security, and Product teams

  • Continuously develop skills in cloud, DevSecOps, platform engineering, and AI technologies

Qualifications

Engineering & Platform Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline

  • Experience supporting and enhancing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Java

  • Experience working with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Understanding of modern application architectures, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems

  • Experience working with containers and Kubernetes environments

Security & DevSecOps

  • Understanding of Secure SDLC principles and DevSecOps practices

  • Experience integrating or utilizing security scanning technologies including SAST, DAST, and SCA

  • Familiarity with IAM, secrets management, and least privilege principles

  • Understanding of shift-left security and automated compliance concepts

AI & Automation

  • Understanding of generative AI concepts and practical engineering use cases

  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts

  • Interest in AI-powered automation and engineering workflow improvement

  • Understanding of AI security considerations and responsible AI practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform

  • Familiarity with GitOps methodologies and tools such as ArgoCD

  • Experience with observability platforms including Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry

  • Exposure to AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen

  • Experience supporting cloud-native applications in production environments

  • Relevant cloud, Kubernetes, security, or DevOps certifications

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 118,000 - 176,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
