Job Summary Subject matter expert engineer works under no direct supervision on complex problems. Leads the design, development, implementation and enhancement of processes and infrastructure to support the development of medical devices and engineering projects related to medical technology. Applies advanced engineering practices to resolve problems of high complexity. Manages, mentors, coaches and guides experienced engineers and leads team projects.
Salary Range: $170,000 - $180,000
* Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 15% of the base salary (include only if applicable to the grade level)

Lead engineer, responsible for planning and managing the delivery of DevOps and IT services, fostering a positive team environment, empowering team members and delegating work.
Aligns, plans and manages coordinated efforts between corporate IT and local IT and external vendors.
Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Work without supervision on the most complex projects. Complete latitude for independent judgment, guides projects and programs within the DevOps and IT groups to solve and troubleshoot issues that range in complexity.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
Generates and implements innovative solutions to complex problems through the use of multiple disciplines and technical principles. Advises senior management regarding appropriate action.
Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve solutions may result in additional costs, personnel and serious delays in overall schedules.
Displays advance understanding of theories/practices utilized by own discipline and other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise to identify coverage of risks, requirements, architectural components, functions and performance, from conception to final design with team input.
Defines, supports and administers physical and virtual Linux and Windows based systems that support the needs of the NABU product delivery teams.
Collaborates with software development on the resolution of cybersecurity vulnerabilities
Collaborate with cross functional groups to accomplish business objectives.
Extensive latitude for independent judgment to resolve issues and contribute to the team's development. Identify improvements for processes and best practices for IT and DevOps.
Advise and assist team members regarding routine and unique problems.
Effectively directs team members in the creation and implementation of development plans; foster growth and development by assigning appropriate challenges for team members.
Assists in managing and providing budget projections.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related field is preferred. Advanced degree or certification preferred
* 10+ years of experience in engineering team, troubleshooting and solving problems. May publish in journals and/or hold some patents.
* Minimum of 1 year of management experience
* Expert knowledge of IT and DevOps. Experience of medical device development processes and FDA regulations a plus
* Prior engineering management experience.
* Extensive experience maintaining a heterogeneous hardware and software environment
* Experience in IT services vendor management
* Extensive experience in creating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate building, testing, and deploying source code
* Experience in management and provisioning IT infrastructure utilizing infrastructure as code (IaC) technologies such as OpenTofu, Terraform, Ansible
* Experience with Kubernetes desired
* Strong knowledge of current monitoring and observability techniques and tooling preferred
* Experience in cloud-based hosting of corporate resources
* Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
* Ability to diagnose and solve problems involving multiple technologies
* Ability to train, mentor, and supervise test team personnel.
* Expert in Analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
* Experience working in virtual environments. Experience with VMWare, Azure, AWS or GCP desired
* Attention to details, natural inclination to be methodical and hands-on in a development lab environment.
* Task management skills with ability to prioritize multiple assignments
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
