Job description

Standard Job Description
You will be the Operations Excellence Engineer for the MFC LSS Organization. Our team is responsible for driving process improvement, increasing value delivery, and supporting strategic initiatives. What You Will Be Doing As the Operations Excellence Engineer you will be responsible for applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to solve complex, cross-functional problems and to deploy to any business area to enhance processes. Performs activities involving the producibility and quality of the product, and the processes that directly pertain, encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering disciplines: failure analysis, industrial, manufacturing, manufacturing equipment, process, product, quality assurance, reliability, supplier quality, Lean Six Sigma, test, and tool.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Embed within functional teams to assess, prioritize, and execute improvement opportunities.
  • Deploy to suppliers and sites to eliminate waste and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma tools such as 6S, Standard Work, Visual Management, FMEA, and Control Charts to identify root causes.
  • Define KPIs, track metrics, and deliver quantified results including cost savings and cycle-time reductions.
  • Prepare executive briefings and dashboards that translate technical findings into strategic business language.

Basic Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in process improvement, operations engineering, or consulting roles within a large, complex organization (defense,aerospace, manufacturing, or similar)
Lean/Six Sigma:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or higher) OR ability to apply Lean Six Sigma Black Belt skills and techniques with demonstrable project leadership and documented results (e.g., $MM savings, % reduction in lead time)
Consulting Acumen:
- Proven track record of acting as a Sr. Advisor-designing problem-solving approaches, facilitating workshops, and delivering actionable recommendations to senior executives
Leadership:
- Ability to influence without direct authority; strong stakeholder management across diverse functional groups
Clearance:
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, therefore must be a US Citizen
Travel:
- Willingness to travel 80-100%

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $118000.00 - $219100.00
