Job: BDEV-Business Developer - Lawncare Recurring (Business Development)
We are looking for someone who truly enjoys all facets of the sales cycle within the green industry. If you get energized and motivated about developing relationships with prospective customers, identifying sales opportunities, and closing new business, this may be the job for you! As a Business Developer, you will be responsible for driving new business growth and expanding market presence for a landscaping company through strategic prospecting, relationship building, and consultative selling. This role identifies and develops opportunities with commercial, municipal, HOA, and other target clients while partnering closely with operations and account management teams to ensure solutions align with company capabilities. The Business Developer plays a key role in achieving revenue goals and supporting long-term, profitable growth.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within assigned markets or territories.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through networking, cold outreach, referrals, and industry events.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal partners, prospective customers, and existing clients
  • Conduct client meetings, site walks, and needs assessments to understand customer objectives and service requirements.
  • Collaborate with estimating, operations, and account management teams to develop proposals, pricing, and service solutions.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying, presenting proposals, and closing commercial landscape accounts targeting Class A and B properties, schools, universities, HOA's, multi-family subdivisions, hospitals, etc.
  • Track sales activity, pipeline progress, and forecasts using CRM or sales tracking tools.
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure smooth handoff of new accounts to operations and account management teams.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed assigned revenue, margin, and growth targets.
  • Represent the company professionally with clients, industry partners, and community organizations.
  • Provide creative landscape solutions as a part of the proposal process
  • Create bids for proposal and negotiate contracts
  • Report on all sales activity as requested by the leadership team
  • Performing other tasks as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 1-2 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in a service-based industry.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and close deals in a competitive environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and basic sales reporting tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for client meetings and site visits.
  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Not afraid to make cold calls regularly as part of the sales process
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in landscaping, construction, facilities services, or other contract-based service industries.
  • Familiarity with commercial, HOA, municipal, or large residential client segments.
  • Understanding of service contracts, pricing models, and long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams to align sales commitments with service delivery.
  • Strong networking skills and comfort representing the company at industry or community events.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven mindset with a consultative approach to selling.
  • Hubspot experience is a plus!
