Position Summary
Yotta Energy is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer II to own and optimize the software delivery lifecycle from code commit to production deployment. This role is responsible for maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing release processes, monitoring production systems, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud-connected platforms. You will work closely with software, hardware, and product teams to build highly automated, observable, and resilient deployment environments supporting distributed solar and energy storage technologies. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on cloud infrastructure, release engineering, automation, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines from development through production deployment
  • Manage software releases, including branching strategies, build promotion, deployment, and rollback procedures
  • Monitor and maintain production applications, cloud infrastructure, and supporting services
  • Configure and maintain observability platforms, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and system reliability issues
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi, or similar tools
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure applications are deployable, testable, and production ready
  • Support integration of cloud services, IoT devices, and embedded systems into deployment workflows
  • Maintain release documentation, operational runbooks, and incident response procedures
  • Implement security, scalability, reliability, and disaster recovery best practices
  • Continuously improving deployment automation, release velocity, and system observability

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms
  • Strong proficiency with Git workflows and release management practices
  • Experience deploying and supporting cloud-native applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, DynamoDB, EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, Load Balancers, and IAM
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi, or Ansible
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or another scripting language
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or Open Telemetry
  • Familiarity with Linux administration and package management
  • Experience with serverless frameworks, particularly SST
  • Experience with embedded systems, IoT devices, or hardware/software integration
  • Background in renewable energy, solar, energy storage, or industrial automation
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth technology environments
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
