Process Engineer

Position Overview

Help drive the future of advanced manufacturing at Shaw Industries.

We're seeking a hands-on engineer to support one of the most technologically advanced vinyl flooring production lines in the company. This high-visibility role is responsible for leading process improvements, troubleshooting complex manufacturing challenges, supporting automation initiatives, and driving operational excellence across the plant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems on the manufacturing floor, working with advanced equipment, and making a measurable impact on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.

What You'll Do
  • Lead process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives plant-wide.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, and process-related issues using root cause analysis.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase reliability.
  • Support automation, robotics, CNC programming, and equipment upgrade projects.
  • Manage capital and expense projects from concept through implementation.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, and Corporate Engineering to evaluate new technologies and process enhancements.
  • Analyze production and financial data to drive performance improvements and cost savings.
  • Develop work instructions, training materials, and standardized processes.
  • Present results and recommendations to plant and corporate leadership.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, automation, or continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and data analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial automation, robotics, CNC programming, PLCs, or manufacturing controls.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment.
