Role Overview:

BDR Solutions LLC is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support mission-critical federal platforms. This role focuses on AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes (EKS), and DevSecOps-driven operations to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

Key responsibilities include managing cloud environments, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, optimizing performance and costs, and supporting 24x7 operations. The ideal candidate brings deep AWS expertise, strong automation skills, and experience working in secure, high-availability environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Active MBI – mandatory; candidates in process do NOT qualify
  • Current or recent IRS contract experience strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering
  • Expert-level Terraform for automated IaC provisioning and management
  • DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline design using GitHub Actions with SAST/DAST/secrets scanning
  • Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles for workspace deployment automation
  • Strong proficiency with EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, and VPC networking
  • Experience with blue/green and canary deployment strategies
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional or AWS Certified Developer preferred
  • Willingness to support 24x7 on-call including off-hours deployment windows
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Design and implement the foundational DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline architecture using GitHub Actions for tenant onboarding automation
  • Automate tenant workspace provisioning and IaC-based onboarding workflows using Terraform and Databricks Asset Bundles
  • Enforce code quality, dependency scanning, and policy-as-code with approval gates and full audit trails
  • Implement secure environment promotion through dev/test/prod for deliverables
  • Support 24x7 CI/CD pipeline monitoring and failure remediation
  • Maintain Platform Operations Runbook and IaC Baselines
  • Contribute to tenant satisfaction by ensuring provisioning pipelines meet the 10-business-day SLA
  • Clearance Required: Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) — ACTIVE

Tools and Platforms:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs)

Clearance Required: Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) — ACTIVE

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Experience with automated testing and deployment strategies

This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment is not guaranteed and will proceed only if the associated contract is awarded and funded.

The compensation range for this position is $110,000 - 170,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to location, skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
