The Information Technology Professional Development Program (ITPDP) is looking for recent college graduates who possess the ability to be our future leaders in IT. Candidates must be interested in pursuing a career in the IT field. Abbott's IT Professional Development Program is a two-year rotational development program designed to provide recent college graduates the foundation to be successful in key IT related positions at Abbott, in the future.

The ITPDP Program Manager will match ITPDP employees to assignments aligned to business opportunities that are compatible with the employee's interests, talents and development needs. Work assignments may be located at Abbott's Corporate Headquarters in Abbott Park, Illinois (40 miles North of Chicago), or one of Abbott's many domestic locations. Within each assignment during the two-year program, the ITPDP employee also works with an assignment manager who acts as an immediate supervisor, overseeing the employee's responsibilities during that rotation. The ITPDP Program Manager is the overall manager for the ITPDP employee, overseeing the employee's progress and assisting the employee job placement in Abbott after completing the two years of the program.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Individuals interested in the ITPDPmust graduate with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology related discipline
  • Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Candidates must be able to relocate to take a Non-Lake County, IL rotation and be open to a Non-Lake County, IL post-program position (if offsite is available)
  • Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

This program is designed to recruit people who will work for Abbott following their graduation. Candidates must have work authorization on a long-term basis that will allow them to work for Abbott without sponsorship after they've completed their education.
