SOME (So Others Might Eat) provides material aid and comfort to our vulnerable neighbors in Washington, DC, helping them break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through programs and services that save lives, improve lives, and help transform the lives of individuals and families, their communities, and the systems and structures that affect them.

Our more than 30 programs throughout the district provide comprehensive services that lead to mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training, living-wage employment, and affordable housing. We meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and healthcare, and offer the tools one needs to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence.

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking a full-time Development Systems & Reporting Manager to support our Development department.

Compensation: We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The salary range for this position is $78,644.00 to $83,172.96 and may be commensurate with experience.

Position Description: The Development Systems & Reporting Manager supports the operational integrity, usability, and effectiveness of Development technology systems. This role is responsible for maintaining CRM data quality, supporting reporting infrastructure, producing lists, and providing user training and documentation to ensure consistent system utilization. Primarily internal facing, this position ensures Development staff have access to reliable data, accurate reporting, and clearly defined processes that support fundraising, stewardship, and communications initiatives. The Development Systems & Reporting Manager reports to the Vice President, Development Operations & Services and works in close collaboration with the Donor Database & Contributions Manager.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (the times can be somewhat flexible). Telework may be permitted 2 days per week. Must "volunteer" on morning of Thanksgiving Day. (occasional weekend/holiday as needed)

Required: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; 35 years of experience in nonprofit development operations, CRM administration, or data management; Experience working with Salesforce (Nonprofit Cloud/Agent force for Nonprofits preferred) or a comparable CRM.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of CRM/database management principles, including data governance, data hygiene, and record integrity.
  • Experience using ETL tools like Data Loader
  • Understanding of reporting structures, data analytics concepts, and performance metrics used in fundraising and stewardship.
  • Ability to follow data privacy standards and confidentiality practices related to donor information.
  • Knowledge of documentation practices and standard operating procedures for system use and process consistency.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a technology team.
  • Understanding of cross-functional collaboration between Development, Finance, and Communications teams.

Expected Contributions: CRM Data Hygiene & Quality Control

  • Monitor and maintain data integrity across Accounts and related records
  • Identify and resolve duplicate records using established protocols
  • Perform bulk record updates using ETL tools (e.g. Data Loader, Apsona) when appropriate
  • Maintain and document data standards (i.e. naming conventions & formatting) and best practices
  • Conduct regular data audits to identify inconsistencies or gaps
  • Monitor integrations with third-party platforms and flags inconsistencies
  • Support cleanup projects related to legacy data or system transitions

Reporting & List Production & Process Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards for end users
  • Assist end users in the production of segmented mailing lists for appeals, events, and stewardship initiatives
  • Maintain campaign and campaign member data structure integrity
  • Validate reporting outputs for accuracy and completeness
  • Support routine and ad hoc reporting requests from Development leadership
  • Document SOPs related to reporting standards, list pulls, and data maintenance practices
  • Identify inefficiencies in workflows and recommend practical improvements
  • Support cross-department data coordination where needed
  • Assist in preparation for audit-related data requests

Routine Gift Acknowledgement

  • Manage the processes by which routine gift acknowledgements are furnished to donors, via third-party platforms, automated internal electronic processes, or weekly mailings through, and updates CRM records to reflect acknowledgement.
  • Coordinate with fundraising staff and vendors to ensure automated and bulk acknowledgement processes are properly scoped for inclusion and exclusion of gifts
  • Coordinate with Marketing & Communications and Individual Philanthropy staff to ensure consistent and approved messaging in acknowledgements

User Support Training & Systems Coordination & Administration

  • Serve as first-line CRM support for Development staff
  • Develop and delivers system training
  • Develop and maintain user guides and workflow documentation
  • Assist users in understanding report logic and segmentation criteria
  • Promote consistent and responsible system usage
  • Assists with testing configuration updates in sandbox environments
  • Elicits reporting and configuration requirements from end users
  • Support implementation of approved system improvements
  • Ensure CRM record formats, visibility, and data architecture support business processes and end-user needs
  • Escalate complex configuration issues to the VP or external consultants
