Job description

Jasco is looking for someone to lead the execution and project management of Jasco's sustainability, recycling, and packaging initiatives. This role ensures packaging solutions align with retailer requirements, business profitability, and environmental goals.
Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and own a comprehensive packaging strategy aligned to cost targets and sustainability goals.
  • Report progress against sustainability and efficiency goals.

KPI Ownership & Reporting
  • Establish and track KPIs for cost, sustainability, recyclability, PCW content, and packaging reduction.
  • Partner with the Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager on Vendor Guide Compliance as it relates to recyclability and traceability.
  • Participate in the Sustainability Task Force.
  • Develop and champion packaging best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and Manufacturers.
  • Own recycling labeling and sustainability claim strategy.

Regulatory Compliance & Retail Alignment
  • Ensure compliance with retailer packaging standards, sustainability and recycling regulations.
  • Work with factories on all new product launches to ensure accurate packaging structure.
  • Drive packaging standardization and consistency across product categories.
  • Improve shipping, storage, and packaging efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce packaging components and optimize materials.

Cost Optimization & Efficiency
  • Own packaging cost structure and reduction initiatives across all active skus.
  • Evaluate emerging materials and sustainability technologies.
  • Lead plastic reduction and material substitution initiatives.

Sustainability & Circularity
  • Drive initiatives around post-consumer recycled/waste (PCR/PCW) materials.
  • Partner with CMO & COO to prioritize initiatives and investments.
  • Define long-term roadmap for material reduction, recyclability, sustainability and product efficiency.

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
  • Up to 3 years of experience in packaging, sustainability, recycling or product development.
  • Experience in consumer products or retail packaging is preferred.
  • Understanding of packaging materials, sustainability frameworks, and regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
