Job description

As an Access Associate Senior at UVA Health, you play a critical role in ensuring patients receive seamless, compassionate entry into care across a complex and high-performing academic medical system.???The Access Associate Senior role may be available to be hybrid work-from-home after 6 months.

?The starting base rate for this role is $19.50/hr. Individual compensation will be?determined?by the selected candidate's?previous?work experience, education, and/or experience,?we?also offer a $3,500 sign on bonus which requires a?2-year?commitment?to UVA Health.??

The Role ?

In this high-impact position, you will serve as a trusted access expert across multiple clinical settings, supporting patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance functions. Your ability to adapt quickly,?maintain?accuracy, and provide outstanding service will directly influence both patient experience and operational efficiency.?

On any given day, you may:?

  • Perform? patient registration, insurance verification, and demographic updates ?with?a high level?of accuracy?

  • Coordinate and manage? appointment scheduling ?across a variety of specialty and primary care services?

  • Communicate directly with patients and families,?providing? clear guidance on processes, expectations, and next steps ?

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma required Associates degree preferred.

Experience: 2 years relevant experience. Access Associates fully cross-trained to cover multiple specialties will be considered in lieu of the 2 years relevant experience.

Licensure: None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: (computer and mouse use). Proficient communicative skill across spoken, writing domains, adequate auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely.

The pay range for this role is $19.50 - $29.55 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
