Company Description

Red Bull New York ("RBNY") are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and one of the league's ten original charter clubs. Founded in 1996, RBNY has competed in MLS since its inception. RBNY's First Team plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey and its Second Team plays its home matches at Montclair State University. RBNY are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull GmbH, after which the team is named.

RBNY's First Team is a three-time MLS Supporters' Shield winner and a two-time Conference Champion, while the Second Team is the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Champion. RBNY also operates one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, spanning local partnerships across New York and New Jersey. RBNY's Academy is ranked among the top development organizations in the country.

Purpose of this Internship

In this internship, you will learn how the day to day of communications and community relations fields on match days and non-matchdays operates. In this role, you will assist the communications and community relations teams in day to day operations including but not limited to assisting with stats research for our first and second teams, writing press releases, researching outlets to collaborate with, researching organizations in our community that we can work with, and transcribing quotes from all press conferences.

This is an unpaid, 20 hours a week for credit internship (proof that you will receive credit is required).

Job Description

Write a professional press release for player transactions, schedule changes, international call ups and award recognitions.

Create Game Notes and Post Game Notes/Recaps.

Conduct stats research.

Moderate a press conference/media availability.

Pitching interview opportunities and community collaborations.

Draft match previews.

Organize and execute player appearances and community events.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or any other related field.

Interested in a career in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing.

Outgoing and open to learning opportunities.

Strong communications skills.

Experience using the Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel etc).

Experience using the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom).

Because of the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, your assigned hours may vary to reflect our needs (includes nights and weekends).
