The Idaho Youth Ranch is one of the oldest non-profit agencies in the state of Idaho. Our mission:
We unite for Idaho's youth by providing accessible programs and services that nurture hope, healing, and resilience.
How will you impact our mission? Be a part of setting a new standard for residential care for generations to come. Successful candidates will have a once-in-a-career opportunity to be a part of our new Residential Center for Healing and Resilience, a 64-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) for youth at our beautiful 258-acre Hands of Promise Campus in Idaho's Treasure Valley.
As a Behavioral Health Workforce Development Specialist, you will be directly involved in nurturing the hope, healing, and resilience for the youth in our care at the RCHR. You will be designing and delivering workforce development programs and training sessions for residential staff, including real-time, on the floor coaching.
Our Behavioral Health Workforce Development Specialists:
• Manage the Internship/ Practicum Program, including interviewing, onboarding, supporting, and coordinating interns within residential and clinical environments
• Support therapeutic milieu management by training staff in consistent approaches to engagement, safety, communication, and de-escalation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (clinical, nursing, residential leadership, and support staff) to enhance team functioning and shared practice
• Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, employers, and educational institutions
• Track and report on training outcomes, program effectiveness, and participant feedback
Must haves:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human services or related field
• Strong background in therapeutic milieu management in residential or inpatient settings
• Strong background in developing and implementing training of staff
• A valid Idaho's driver's license or obtain one within 15 days of hire, as a condition of continued employment
• Be at least 25 years of age
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
Preferred:
• Master's degree (or higher) in a human services field: social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage and family therapy
• Licensed as LCSW, LCPC, or PhD with supervision credential
