WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an R&D Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting product development initiatives across design, development, quality assurance, and documentation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to help build, test, and improve internal tools and applications.
You will play a meaningful role in supporting product development efforts while contributing to real-world projects that enhance functionality, usability, and efficiency.
This is a 10-week summer internship (June 2 - August 6) requiring 40 hours per week of onsite work in Marietta, Georgia. In this role, you will contribute to development, testing, and design initiatives that directly impact product quality and user experience.
Major duties and responsibilities:
  • Work on supporting product development initiatives under the guidance of experienced team members
  • Assist with front-end development tasks using Angular or similar frameworks
  • Support UX/UI design efforts using tools such as Figma to build and refine design components
  • Assist in QA testing, including identifying, tracking, and validating bugs
  • Collaborate with team members using version control tools such as GitLab
  • Support tracking and management of development tasks using tools like Jira
  • Assist in maintaining and updating technical documentation in Confluence
  • Contribute to improving workflows, testing processes, and documentation practices
  • Explore and apply AI tools to enhance development, testing, and documentation efficiency
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product initiatives
  • Prepare summaries, documentation, and updates for project stakeholders
  • Complete a capstone project or final presentation summarizing key contributions, improvements, or learnings from the internship

WHO YOU ARE
You are a curious and motivated problem solver with an interest in software development, design, and product innovation. You enjoy learning new tools, working across different areas of development, and contributing to solutions that improve user experience and product quality.
Key Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong interest in software development, UX/UI design, or product development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to document and explain ideas clearly
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:
  • Exposure to front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or similar platforms
  • Experience with development tools such as GitLab, Jira, or Confluence
  • Exposure to agile development environments
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies
