Job description

Business Banker

Bank – Atlanta, GA

Overview
Bank is continuing to expand its presence in the Atlanta market and is seeking an experienced Business Banker to develop and grow commercial banking relationships. This role is focused on building a balanced portfolio of C&I and owner-occupied real estate relationships with small and middle-market businesses while delivering both lending and deposit solutions.

The bank is looking for a highly networked, business development–oriented banker who can bring strong market relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to business owners across the Atlanta area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new commercial banking relationships with businesses across the Atlanta market

  • Build and manage a portfolio of C&I and commercial real estate loans, with a primary focus on operating companies

  • Generate and grow core deposits alongside lending relationships

  • Partner with treasury management to deliver cash management solutions including remote deposit capture, purchasing cards, lockbox services, and other treasury products

  • Maintain a strong calling program with business owners, centers of influence, and referral partners

  • Structure and present credit opportunities in partnership with credit and underwriting teams

  • Manage the full client relationship including lending, deposits, and ancillary services

Target Client Profile

  • Privately held businesses in the small to lower middle market segment

  • Emphasis on commercial & industrial (C&I) relationships

  • Owner-occupied and select investor real estate opportunities are welcomed but not the sole focus

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven business development banker with a strong network in the Atlanta market

  • Track record of generating both loans and deposits

  • Experience working with small to middle-market commercial clients

  • Strong local market presence with established relationships among business owners, CPAs, attorneys, and other referral sources

  • Ability to independently source and develop new opportunities

Territory

The role is based in Atlanta, with flexibility depending on where the banker's relationships are concentrated. Strong candidates may be located across key submarkets including:

  • Buckhead

  • Midtown

  • Cobb County / Galleria

  • Gwinnett County

  • Peachtree City / South Atlanta

The bank is opportunistic about market coverage and primarily focused on bringing in the best talent with established relationships.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: DOE

  • Incentive structure tied to loan growth, deposits, and overall relationship profitability

Platform & Capabilities

While maintaining the agility of a relationship-driven bank, The Bank offers a competitive treasury management platform including:

  • Remote deposit capture

  • ACH and payment services

  • Purchasing cards

  • Lockbox capabilities

  • Full treasury management support

This allows bankers to deliver complete commercial banking solutions to clients while maintaining a highly responsive credit culture.

Why this opportunity stands out:

  • Entrepreneurial, growth-oriented bank culture

  • Strong credit and treasury infrastructure

  • Ability to build a book through true relationship banking

  • Significant flexibility in targeting Atlanta submarkets
