At Haggar, a division of RAA, we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Product Development Associate to join our Apparel team. This role supports the end-to-end product development process, working closely with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams to bring seasonal collections to life. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and has a strong understanding of garment construction, fabric, trims, and the development calendar.

Essential Role Functions:

  • Support the product development lifecycle from initial concept to final production hand-off.
  • Track and manage development timelines to ensure all key milestones and approvals are met.
  • Build styles in the Design Master ERP system to initiate the costing process.
  • Review new orders and initiate production workflows through the ERP system.
  • Communicate directly with factories and mills regarding production bulk color approvals and shadeband reviews.
  • Collaborate internally with Design and Sourcing teams to align on development needs and solutions.
  • Review and finalize Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the PLM system for new, carryover, and replenishment styles.
  • Initiate and manage requests for new packaging or updates to existing packaging in coordination with the Marketing team.
  • Create packaging and packing manuals within the PLM system, ensuring alignment with production timelines.
  • Research and support trim sourcing efforts by working with mills and suppliers.
  • Review and approve basic trim cards for production items submitted by factories.
  • Review pre-production and top-of-production samples for accuracy in color, packaging, labels, trims, and overall quality using our PLM system.
  • Communicate with factories to troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to fabric, trims, and packaging.
  • Collaborate with management for final development and production approvals.
  • Manage the approval process for production fabric, trims, and garments, including in-house and third-party lab testing.
  • Participate in fittings, document sample comments, and manage revisions as needed.
  • Maintain organized seasonal libraries of fabrics, trims, packaging, and samples.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Textiles, Product Development, or related field.
  • 1-3years of experience in apparel product development or a related role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have good vision, sense of touch, and clarity of color perception.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and working knowledge of textile manufacturing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with overseas mills and factory partners to meet production deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with precision.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and a collaborative spirit.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with PLM systems such as Yunique or FlexPLM.
  • Familiarity with fabric, trim, and garment testing and approval processes.
