Job Description
The Assistant/Associate/Professor of Surgery will be primarily responsible for teaching LMU-DCOM approved curriculum, clinical and surgical duties, and scholarly activity. They shall be held accountable for these obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, the School, and the Department. Lead and facilitate skills labs for residents and students at our GME partner institutions, ensuring hands-on, competency-based learning experiences as needed. Design and deliver structured procedural training sessions to enhance residents and students clinical competencies as needed.
Required Qualifications
*D.O./M.D. degree and Board Certification in Surgery; *able to be licensed in Tennessee within the first-year of hire date by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination/Tennessee Medical State Board; unrestricted Tennessee license and approved medical professional liability insurance must be maintained throughout employment (individual coverage for patient care for University approved activities will be paid or reimbursed by LMU-DCOM).
Preferred Qualifications
*D.O. degree and able to be licensed in Tennessee by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination; Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical/academic medicine teaching and leadership. Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience.
