Main purpose of the position:

The Fabric R&D Assistant will utilize his or her exceptional organizational skills to support the Fabric Research and Development team. He or she will comprehend the fabric development process and complete administrative tasks as needed. This is a permanent full time role for a candidate who can ensure data entry accuracy, communicate effectively and has strong organization skills that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment. 

Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Quarterly WIP maintenance, ensuring all fabric data is up to date and in correct format
  • Assist R&D Manager/Associates to input fabric information into PLM
  • Assist the R&D Manager/Associates with internal and external communication and follow up
  • Hold/order and track sample yardage
  • Assist R&D Manager/Associates by setting up binders for each brand/each season 
  • Assist with taking pictures, uploading and renaming files of fabric hangers
  • Work with cross functional teams to prepare for for buy meetings
  • Help track incoming sourcing/counter sourcing/submit packages
  • Organize physical fabric library and assist in maintaining the library
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 1+ year experience working in a similar role
  • Experience with data entry
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Google Docs


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Fashion, Product Development or similar field
  • Experience with fabrics

This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.

A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly/salary range is $20/hr to $21/hr.
