Job Summary

Responsible for daily operation of an asphalt production plant, including safety, compliance, and quality control.

Main Responsibilities

* Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
* Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
* Ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, quality, and efficiency
* Effectively coordinate the day-to-day work environment and staff to ensure safety, regulatory, and production targets are met
* Actively support and lead Company initiatives related to safety and employee development
* Assist with training, coaching and development of employees to perform at their highest level
* Maintain effective relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers, and Company business groups
* Effectively communicate in a professional manner in person, over the phone, and on company radio channels
* Establish plant production schedules to meet supply, schedule, and delivery needs
* Use computer system to enter and maintain data, manage schedules, prepare reports, and respond to e-mail correspondence
* Batch and inspect loads to ensure consistency of mix
* Coordinate scheduling of plant equipment maintenance
* Order and maintain inventory of raw materials supply
* Safely operate company equipment, tooling, and vehicles as needed

* 10 or more years of experience in asphalt production operations and/or related role
* 5 or more years of experience in a supervisory role preferred
* Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance
* Ability to lead and motivate others; prior experience effectively managing a team preferred
* Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlines
* Basic computer skills, including use of MS Office products

  • Valid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required; Class B commercial license preferred (Required)

  • Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
