Job Purpose
The Manager, Cloud and Platform Engineering is responsible for leading the enterprise cloud and platform engineering function, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, DevOps, cloud governance, and platform services. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud platforms while driving improvements in automation, operational efficiency, platform standardization, and cloud adoption. The ideal candidate is a player-coach leader who actively contributes to architecture, engineering, automation, and complex technical problem solving while leading teams responsible for cloud and platform services across the organization.
What you will do...
  • Lead the Cloud and Platform Engineering team supporting AWS, Azure, and OCI environments
  • Act as a hands-on leader contributing to cloud architecture, automation, and troubleshooting
  • Design and oversee secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Lead cloud adoption, migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives
  • Establish and maintain enterprise cloud landing zones, governance standards, and engineering best practices
  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or similar technologies)
  • Drive DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment standardization
  • Manage cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, DNS, identity, and access management services
  • Implement cloud security controls including IAM, encryption, secrets management, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with Security teams on vulnerability remediation, cloud security posture, and governance initiatives
  • Drive platform engineering initiatives enabling self-service infrastructure and automation capabilities
  • Oversee monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting platforms across multi-cloud environments
  • Lead backup, disaster recovery, resiliency, and business continuity strategies
  • Act as escalation point for complex cloud and platform-related issues
  • Drive cloud financial governance, cost optimization, and consumption reporting
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging cloud, platform, AI, and automation technologies
  • Support enterprise initiatives including AI platforms, cloud-native applications, analytics, and modernization efforts
  • Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards, documentation, and operational runbooks
  • Manage strategic cloud vendors, managed services partners, and technology providers
  • Communicate cloud strategy, roadmap, risks, and performance metrics to leadership

Requirements
  • 8-12+ years of Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related experience
  • 3-5+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, identity, security, and distributed systems
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, ARM, or similar technologies)
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
  • Experience with container and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, governance, and vulnerability management
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana, Splunk, or similar platforms
  • Experience with disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability solutions
  • Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization and financial management practices
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
