Description

DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer with 7+ years of experience in CI/CD transformation and tool modernization, responsible for modernizing enterprise delivery pipelines while supporting Java, .NET, Python, and database applications across hybrid platforms, enabling standardized automation, stronger governance, and faster software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish consistent CI/CD pipeline standards by defining best practices for workflow configuration, naming conventions, and approval processes. Ensure all pipelines adhere to organizational policies for security, testing, and artifact management, promoting uniformity and reducing errors across projects.

• Implement deployment pipelines in Harness for application delivery across environments

• Standardize branching, pull request, release, and promotion workflows

• Integrate CI/CD pipelines with security scanning, approvals, testing, and artifact repositories

• Troubleshoot issues end to end (pipeline, package, dependencies, deployment)

• Automate build, deployment, rollback, and release validation processes

• Improve pipeline reliability, traceability, governance, and developer self-service capabilities

• Capacity planning

• Partner with development, QA, infrastructure, and release teams during migration and onboarding

• Support modernization of deployment pipelines for Java, .NET, Python, and database applications across enterprise platforms such as WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, IIS, and container-based environments

Required Skills

• Hands on DevOps experience

• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

• Expertise in XLR release orchestration and migration

• Strong knowledge workflow orchestration, and automation best practices

• Skilled in Groovy, YAML, shell scripting / Python

• Familiar with branching strategies, pull request workflows, and release management

• Experience with artifact repositories, secrets management, and environmental promotion strategies

• Experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot

• Experience supporting enterprise applications (Java, .NET, Python, databases) across WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, IIS, and modern container platforms

• Troubleshoot application deployment issues and platform issues

• Exposure to Splunk, Dynatrace or similar monitoring tools

Preferred Skills

• Migration of CI/CD pipelines from Bitbucket to GitHub Actions and XLR to Harness

• Experience implementing policy, compliance, and governance controls in CI/CD

• Knowledge of blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies

• Experience integrating pipelines with testing, code quality, and security tools

• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and cloud-native deployment patterns

• Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, and operational monitoring in deployment pipelines
