About the role:

The Senior Project Engineering Manager is a dynamic role that performs technical, management, and project management activities to ensure successful completion of tasks that vary in complexity and need. This role is a critical interface role between the Westinghouse Project Engineering Department, Licensing Organization, Construction Partner, Owner, and Regulator that will facilitate the successful completion of VC Summer project

You will report to the Director of Project Engineering VC Summer. Due to the interfacing nature of this position, time at VC Summer is expected (25-50%) during early Phases of the project moving to full time onsite as the project progresses and requires. The PEM will be instrumental in clearing barriers, coordinating needs, and managing cross-company collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Interface/Communicate/Collaborate:

  • Internally within project engineering, between Functional Areas and Project Engineering, and between sister project engineering teams (e.g., APx or Poland).
  • Externally with our construction partner
  • Externally with the Owner/Project Manager
  • Externally with the Regulator/AHJs
  • Lead multiple meetings and workshops as the representative and voice of the Westinghouse organization
  • Support the development of or create schedules and budgets for scopes related to contract Scopes of Work
  • May perform engineering preparation, review, or approval of Engineering/Project Engineering documents.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related). Preference to Civil with Infrastructure/Environmental background.
  • 10 years project engineering/management or equivalent roles of increased responsibilities, with experience leading successful projects or large scopes
  • Experience with Engineering principles, project management methodologies, and regulatory standards (including state level permitting)
  • Leadership and teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating across departments
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in SC or ability to acquire in 30 days

Beneficial:

  • EPC Experience (AP1000). Experience with recent construction and construction/engineering management
  • Advanced degrees in business or engineering
