Job description

Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is available for an Experienced Aviation Engineering Project Manager at our Scottsdale, AZ office location.
Responsibilities for this position may include the following:
  • Serves as project manager and/or project engineer on complex projects
  • Researches and recommends advances in technical software and other new technology in the field to improve efficiency
  • Provides technical guidance to staff in area of expertise
  • Will serve as project manager and lead marketing pursuits, will act as client contact
  • Responsible for schedules, work in progress, and timely completion of projects
  • Coordinates and approves pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
  • Develops engineering agreements for their projects within the department
  • Responsible for control of work-in-process
  • Assists with contract administration
  • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction. schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for projects
  • Instructs technicians to convert designs to working drawings
  • Visits construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
  • Other duties as assigned

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have:
  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least twelve (12) years of experience
  • A PE license is required.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
  • Experience leading aviation design and construction projects
  • Experience serving as the project manager on aviation projects
  • Experience mentoring and leading engineering project teams
  • Construction management experience
  • Experience in contract administration scope and fee preparation/negotiations
  • Experience with Marketing and Business Development
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
