Developer Interns are students or recent graduates who work temporarily at a company to gain practical experience in software development. They assist full-time developers by writing code, testing software, fixing bugs, and learning about industry practices. Internships typically last a few months and provide valuable opportunities to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects. Developer Interns also receive mentorship and feedback, helping them build technical skills and professional networks.

How does a developer intern typically collaborate with full-time developers and other team members during a project?

As a Developer Intern, you'll often work closely with experienced developers through pair programming, code reviews, and regular team meetings. You'll also interact with product managers and QA testers to understand project requirements and ensure your contributions align with the team's goals. This collaborative environment not only helps you learn industry best practices but also allows you to receive constructive feedback and guidance, which is invaluable for professional growth. Because interns support hospital and clinical activities within a designated territory, candidates must reside within their assigned region and remain local throughout both the summer internship and academic year. Candidate location will be considered during the interview and placement process.

This internship combines remote work with field-based clinical experiences within an assigned territory. Interns may participate in hospital procedures, clinical education, and other in-person customer engagements within their assigned territory. Therefore, living within the assigned region is a requirement of the program. Interns are expected to work full-time during the summer and continue part-time during the academic year.

 Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and do not require sponsorship now or in the future for an employment visa. The Medtronic Summer Internship Program does not provide work authorization sponsorship for summer intern positions. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for the Medtronic Summer Internship Program.

 Experience presenting technical, scientific, academic, or project-related findings to groups or stakeholders.

 Experience working on team-based projects with defined deliverables and deadlines.

 Exposure to healthcare, medical devices, human physiology, biomedical engineering, life sciences, or patient care settings through coursework, research, volunteering, shadowing, internships, or employment.
