What are Developer Interns?

Developer Interns are students or recent graduates who work temporarily at a company to gain practical experience in software development. They assist full-time developers by writing code, testing software, fixing bugs, and learning about industry practices. Internships typically last a few months and provide valuable opportunities to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects. Developer Interns also receive mentorship and feedback, helping them build technical skills and professional networks.

How does a Developer Intern typically collaborate with full-time developers and other team members during a project?

As a Developer Intern, you'll often work closely with experienced developers through pair programming, code reviews, and regular team meetings. You'll also interact with product managers and QA testers to understand project requirements and ensure your contributions align with the team's goals. This collaborative environment not only helps you learn industry best practices but also allows you to receive constructive feedback and guidance, which is invaluable for professional growth. Expect to participate in daily stand-ups or scrum meetings, where you'll share progress and discuss any challenges faced.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Developer Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Developer Intern, you need a foundational understanding of programming languages (such as Python, Java, or JavaScript), computer science concepts, and problem-solving abilities, often supported by progress toward a relevant degree. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, basic IDEs, and sometimes exposure to frameworks or cloud platforms is expected. Strong communication, eagerness to learn, and teamwork skills help you collaborate effectively and adapt to new challenges. These skills ensure you can contribute meaningfully to projects, grow quickly in a professional environment, and support the development team's goals.

Job description

Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Digital Marketing Intern who will be responsible for creative content production, campaign execution, and digital marketing support across the EMEA region. If you love technology, have a passion for visual storytelling, and are keen to join an industry leader - we would love to hear from you!

Geotab is seeking a driven Digital Marketing Intern to join our EMEA team. You'll support the EMEA region, focusing on video and graphic ad production, digital campaign execution, YouTube optimization, and AI-powered marketing workflows.

What you'll do:

As a Software Developer Intern, your key area of responsibility will be collaborating with fellow developers and our Product team to improve and implement features for our Reporting and Authentication functionality. Your day-to-day may include: designing software solutions, troubleshooting bugs and communicating with internal stakeholders to ensure that deadlines and expectations are met. You will need to work closely with other members of the development and technical teams.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a motivated individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will design robust and scalable software solutions while being able to manage multiple projects and priorities to ensure timely results.

The opportunity:
  • 12 month work-term beginning September 2026.
  • Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.
  • Your first week at Geotab begins with 'GEO Launch' - a one-week Employee Orientation. Click here to learn more!

  • This posting is for an existing vacancy.
How you'll make an impact:
  • EMEA Campaign Execution: Assist with the execution of digital campaigns across LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, and Bing, including creative production, UTM setup, and performance monitoring to reach fleet decision-makers across key EMEA markets.
  • Video & Creative Production: Create and edit short-form video ads and static/animated graphic creatives for YouTube, LinkedIn, and Google Display campaigns. Support the localization of visual assets for UK, French, German, Spanish, and Italian markets.
  • YouTube Content Optimization: Help grow EMEA YouTube performance by optimizing video metadata (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and captions) for local markets. Use AI tools to support creative performance analysis and content ideation.
  • ABM & Digital Reporting: Contribute to account-based marketing campaign execution and assist in tracking account engagement through data analysis and reporting. Generate performance reports, monitor campaign KPIs, and help identify optimization opportunities across channels.
  • Data Management: Assist in maintaining and enriching target account data to support accurate segmentation and campaign targeting.
AI-Powered Marketing Workflows: Actively explore and apply AI tools in day-to-day marketing tasks - including content localization, creative ideation, and reporting - contributing to the team's evolving AI-first approach.
What you'll bring to the role:
  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate with a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English and at least one of French, German, Spanish, or Italian, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interest in Digital Marketing and a passion for creative content production.
  • Basic experience with video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, iMovie, or similar).
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva.
  • Curiosity about AI tools and their application in marketing workflows.
  • Familiarity with digital and social media platforms and a basic understanding of paid advertising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, creativity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
  • Prior internship or experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not mandatory.
If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role! Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
