Summary:

The Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that support the Bank's business operations. This role partners with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver efficient, scalable technology solutions. The Software Developer participates in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support, while helping solve complex technical challenges that contribute to the Bank's success.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications using modern programming languages.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and department managers to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Design and implement software solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practices.
  • Write secure, clean, efficient, documented, and maintainable code.
  • Adhere to programming standards, partner with the Information Security team to ensure SDLC adherence and a security first methodology.
  • Translate user requirements into technical specifications and system designs.
  • Developing high-quality, efficient, and scalable software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Keep up to date with emerging software development trends and technologies.
  • Develop integrations between the assigned applications and the bank's internal systems and/or third-party vendors.
  • Support the research, evaluation, implementation, and governance of Generative AI and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency, improve business processes, and ensure responsible, compliant adoption across the Bank.
  • Analyze departmental workflows to identify automation opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in software development.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C++, or Python
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with web development and frameworks
  • Proficiency in version control systems, such as Github
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in web development.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.



Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years’ programming experience required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
