Centra has an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer in Columbus, Indiana. The Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support Centra's operational and digital needs. This role focuses on building secure, reliable applications, integrating systems, and supporting technology modernization efforts that enhance internal efficiency and Member experience. The position works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that align with established requirements, technical standards, and Centra's development practices. The Software Developer delivers high-quality code, supports cloud-based development, and contributes to continuous improvement of Centra's software environment.

Essential Functions: This position may be required to perform additional duties as requested. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform.
  • Develops, designs, tests, and maintains software applications and services using modern development languages (C#/Node.js) and frameworks to support the Credit Union's technology needs.
  • Builds and integrates APIs, microservices, and system connections that enable reliable data exchange between internal applications, core processing, and digital banking systems.
  • Develops and optimizes database queries, stored procedures, and related components to ensure secure and efficient application performance.
  • Implements Azure cloud tools and DevOps pipelines to deploy and maintain applications in accordance with established technical and security standards.
  • Collaborates with Team Members, internal stakeholders, and external technical resources to clarify requirements and support accurate, timely delivery of solutions.
  • Participates in code reviews to ensure consistency, maintainability, and adherence to Centra's coding and security practices.
  • Recommends technical improvements to existing applications to enhance stability, performance, or maintainability.
  • Documents software development lifecycle processes, including documentation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support activities.
  • Supports troubleshooting and resolution of application issues and participates in on-call or after-hours support as needed.
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to Centra Credit Union policies and procedures, including regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - (EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field
  • A minimum of five years up to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory
    experience
