Company Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our repair shop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing Class 8 commercial trucks (Volvo, Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, etc.) to ensure safety and fleet reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostic tests using electronic software and manual tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Engine & Drivetrain Repair: Perform light and heavy repairs on diesel engines (Cummins, Detroit Diesel, PACCAR, Volvo), transmissions, and differentials.
Brakes & Suspension: Inspect, adjust, and repair air brake systems, ABS, suspension components, airbags, tie rods, kingpins, and shock absorbers.
Aftertreatment & Electrical: Diagnose and repair DEF/DPF systems, replace sensors, troubleshoot wiring harnesses, and resolve fault codes.
Preventative Maintenance (PM): Conduct routine PM services (oil and filter changes, chassis lubrication) and annual DOT safety inspections.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Class 8 diesel truck mechanic.
Tools: Must have a personal set of basic mechanic hand tools.
Technical Skills: Ability to read electrical/pneumatic schematics and operate diagnostic tools (JPRO, Cummins Insite, DDDL, etc.).
Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset.
Preferred Certifications: ASE certifications, certified DOT inspector, or a valid driver License.
